The provision of disabled access to the Royal Bar will not require any official enforcement.
The daytime clientele seems almost wholly comprised of people on crutches temporarily and permanently or in wheelchairs motorised and non-motorised.
Customers can choose between Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 depending on which end of the bar one perambulates to, or watching the woodburning stove man and making comments - "Is the chimney no' big enough for Santa.." etc etc
Lunch time brings in a wave of the semi able-bodied, probably travelling salesman and the like who still spend the better part of their lives in a seated position.
The atmosphere is smoke free, women free and convivial.

until they light the stove . .
So long as they turn the extraction fan off behind the bar the smoke should go up the chimney rather than down.
Since the ban do they have anything to extract anyway?
Hello arse (if I may be so bold). Strange stuff that google throws up - you've appeared on my current search on wood burning stoves, so I wondered if you have knowledge of these devices? I'm looking at the possibility of installing a small Charnwood or similar wood burner in my living room, but perpolexed at the very wide range of types and particulalrly prices - £200 to £2000!
Are you able to comment on what I should go for at around £5-700, 4Kw, glass door, small footprint, duarable and reliable with blah blah. Just thought I'd ask. Oh, and I also signed up to start my own blog in trying to find out about your google apperarance via your blog handling site. I never did find your blog entry on woodburning stoves, so sorry if this wastes your time. Cheers....keith in Oban
There's no getting away from work!
Oban eh? your nearest outlet could easily be The Burning Question in Perth, where Douglas will be keen to advise on the various choices.
As in most things you only get what you pay for. That 4kw Charnwood is too small and a bit poxy. Clearview stick their neck out by calling themselves Clearview and seem quite good. Charnwood go up to a 6kw double doored thing.
Morso come from a woodburning background the Squirrel has squirrels cast on the sides which isn't to everyones taste but they have more modern looking ones as well.
Of course you should really have a liner in your chimney if you're using an existing one.
Stainless steel 904 with insulating beads surrounding it or pumice ones which are more hassle to fit but lasdt longer.
Most people go for the stainless steel.
Your nearest Chimney lining specilaist is The Daily Arse.
