You always wonder when you're making a cup of tea with your back to a snarling dog in a strange kitchen if it can smell the fear.
"A,A,A! Calm Down, Calm Down!"
Silence for about ten seconds.
"A,A!"
Jeez how much longer is it going to take this kettle to boil?
I'm begining to smell the fear myself.

You can rest easy. I saw a nature documentary that described how animals of the same species can smell / sense each other's fears, but it doesn't trasmit to other species.
Basically, if you were the same breed, she's be laughing. But since you are human, the bitch is none the wiser.
I should stress that they didn't provide any real back up to this assertion.
